The Monte is painting update got my attention.

He’s one of the few friends from high school that I’ve seen in person since I moved to MN. Is he the only one? Wow, I think he is. I think his main gig is playing for Madonna but he was touring with Prong and stopped by The Rock in Maplewood, MN. I went up there and hung out with him, Tommy Victor and Aaron Rossi. It was a good time, Monte was that guy in school that everybody liked – just an all around cool guy – so it was good seeing him again.

Marine Corps Silent Drill Team

Check out this video, watch the precision with which they perform, no one calling cadence, no rhythm to follow other than the clapping of their rifles (which are armed with real bayonets).  The first and only time I saw these guys in person was during boot camp, 1995.  Not quite sure what they were doing at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, but it was cool seeing them.  They represent the finest of Marine precision.
